Kraftbomb - Red Bull and Perky Nana cupcakes!

Perky Nana cupcake goodness!

Red Bull cupcakes

If you're an Aucklander, make sure you head along to Kraftbomb this Sunday 26th April. Its at the Grey Lynn Community Centre, from 11am to 2pm.

Lots of rad crafts, lovely crafters, the famous lemonade made by Fred and of course, NZCQ cupcakes!

I'm still finalising the flavours I'll be bringing along, but after the success of my new Red Bull cupcakes selling out at the last Kraftbomb, they will definitely be on the menu again along with Perky Nana flavour too!

NZCQ on All Things Cupcake's Vegan Week

Almost 2 months ago I made the decision to go vegan after being a vegetarian for a long time. Its a huge choice to make but in some ways it was very simple since it felt right for me as I was eating mostly vegan anyway.

The awesome and always interesting All Things Cupcake asked me to write a blog about vegan cupcakes and baking in New Zealand for their vegan week. Head to the link to find out more my switch to a vegan diet and what it means for my cupcakes!

What to Feed a Vegan Kiwi with City the NZ Cupcake Queen

Don't worry, I'm not a jerk and without my fans who buy cupcakes every Kraftbomb I wouldn't be the NZCQ. So for those who love my Mt Dew, Jaffa, Perky Nana and Red Bull cupcakes, they're not going anywhere :-)

Rise Against cupcakes - oh yeah!

Ok, so its time for a very overdue update! Firstly, thank you so much to everyone for the kind messages and emails I've been receiving since my last post. Its nice to know that so many of you have had similar experiences and that taking a break from baking has been the right choice to make, even though I miss it!!

I'm on my 2 week break from art school and enjoying a few sleep ins after some intense weeks of finishing assignments and not much sleep! But I have managed to do a bit of baking in the last month and it was for some very rad dudes who visited NZ recently.

Rise Against are one of my favourite bands and their gig in Auckland was amazing. Thanks to my lovely friend and fellow straight edge cupcake nerd Natalie from Bake & Destroy, we got to not only go to the show, we met the guys too! They were the most lovely friendly dudes ever who took the time to sign all our stuff, talk about vegan baking, black sand beaches in Auckland and swap cute dog pics.

I made a batch of my yummy chocolate vegan cupcakes for the guys and dropped them to them on their last night in Auckland. If you haven't listened to Rise Against, I strongly suggest you do!
