gingerbread house for xmas day

I made my frist gingerbread house and it was so much fun. Chris helped me (he's the best baking assistant a girl could ask for!) and we had a great time putting it together and covering it in lollies. I was surprised how easy it actually was. I made sure I cut out cardboard templates first to make sure it would all fit together and then cut the gingerbread dough to the right shape before baking. I put it all together with royal icing (my first time making it) and it really did work gluing the walls and roof together.

On Xmas day Chris and I went to an amazing lunch held at my parent's friend's place. I made the gingerbread house for this couple, Jo & Owen, and I think they were quite stoked to get it. Mind you, we never got to try any of it as it was too pretty for them to cut into and they wanted to keep it for a few more days!

interview on cakespy.com

I was fortunate enough to get to know the lovely Jessie Oleson through The Cupcake Project , an art project that I also run. She submitted some of her beautiful cupcake artwork to be part of the cupcake project and I discovered her amazing paintings and her very cool blog Cakespy.com

I was lucky enough to be interviewed by Jessie and you can find my interview on her Cakespy blog HERE. I've been a bit slack with my blogging over the xmas break so this is a little late.

cupcakes for Leonie & Melinda

I made a batch of Xmas cupcakes for 2 of my favourite people. My lovely massage/accupuncturist Leonie and my chiropractor Melinda.

Both of them have helped me so much this year when my RSI in my shoulder and arm got really bad. They've both heard ALOT about all my cupcakes so I thought it was about time I made them both a batch. I chose jaffa cupcakes topped with chocolate buttercream frosting, green and red m&m's and some festive xmas sprinkles! I packaged them up in star shaped dishes with some candy canes!

Merry Xmas to Leonie & Melinda :-)

cupcakes for workmates - last batch for 2007

My workmates often score cupcakes from me on Mondays after I've had a bake-a-thon on the weekend. I thought before work wrapped up for the year I'd make them one more batch of cupcakes. This lot were chocolate with caramel and choc chunk cupcakes topped with butter rum flavoured frosting and holly made of jaffas and spearmint lollies. The result is cute little cupcakes that look like xmas puddings.

Merry Xmas to the gang at Spot On!

Everyones fave jaffa ones topped with orange frosting and special red chocolates I'd made in the shape of the targets we shoot each week. Everyone really enjoyed them after they got past thinking they were too cute to eat!!

Mairead's birthday cupcakes

I've been a bit slack uploading photos of my cupcakes lately.

Finally here are the ones I made for my lovely sister-in-law Mairead for her birthday on 27th November. Jaffa cupcakes with orange buttercream frosting and topped with a jaffa and shamrock sprinkles (since she is an Irish lass)

Mairead, the baby bump and my brother all enjoyed them :-)
