Valentines Day

So I'm not a huge fan of Valentines Day, but after last year I started to see it as a great chance for some heart themed cupcakes! Last Valentines Day, my workmate Karen and I had a cupcake bakeoff, which our co-workers every so kindly offered to judge. While the vote seemed to go to me, everyone had to give Karen credit for the fact that her specialty is making the most amazing caramel slice. You can never eat one from the bakery after having hers!!

I'll post my effort for Valentines 2006 (single cupcake at bottom) and 2007 (cupcakes on doily at top). The 2007 ones were my most fancy so far - caramel flavour with jersey caramels inside, pink caramel butter icing with heart sprinkles! badass
